FREDDY DAHL

Freddy Dahl is a Norwegian guitarist and vocalist who has been a central figure in Norwegian rock music since the 1970s. He is particularly known for his work with the bands Junipher Greene, Ruphus, and Saluki, where he has made his mark with both his distinct guitar playing and powerful vocals.

Dahl began his career in Juniper Greene, one of Norway's first and most influential progressive rock bands. He helped record the legendary double album **"Friendship"** (1971), which is considered a milestone in Norwegian rock. With his versatility as a guitarist, he contributed to the band's complex but melodic sound, which mixed elements of progressive rock, blues and jazz.

After his time in Junipher Greene, Dahl joined the Norwegian band Ruphus, also known for their progressive rock with elements of jazz rock and fusion. Here he continued to develop his playing style and vocals, making him an important part of the band's creative expression.

In 1976, Dahl went on to form Saluki with other experienced musicians from the Norwegian music scene. In Saluki, he continued to explore and develop his musical expression, contributing greatly to the band's unique sound with his ability to combine advanced musical structures with catchy melodies. Dahl has been a driving force in Saluki both in the 1970s and in later incarnations of the band.

Freddy Dahl's guitar playing is known for being technically advanced, yet at the same time emotional and melodic. As a vocalist, he has a powerful but flexible voice that is well suited to rock, jazz and prog. His career is a testament to his ability to adapt and thrive in different musical contexts, and he remains a respected figure in Norwegian music.
