is educated at  Østlandets musikkonservatorium 
(1979–1984) and work , besides  SALUKI, as a drummer and percussionist  and teacher of music.
Berg-Nielsen  has worked in theaters and been part of the muisical ensemble in more than 40 productions at Det Norske Teatret (1984–2003). He is also part time sessionplayer, Orchesteral drummer and musician in various contemporarymusic projects,
Gunnar Berg-Nielsen plays and has played in a number of bands inklucive: Maroder, De sørgelige restene av Gartnerlosjen, Octoband, Tramteatret (1985), 
Zarathustra, Sugarpops, Lassen.
